Director of Project Management

Overview

Company A growing technology company operating in a regulated, high-stakes industry where data integrity and system reliability directly affect end users. Engineering is scaling and there's a real mandate to mature how the org delivers software. This role sits horizontally across engineering leadership.

Role

Hands-on project manager to bring real Agile discipline into a growing engineering org. This is an execution role - you'll own the processes, documentation, and delivery cadence that keep engineering aligned with product and business priorities.

• Introduce and embed true Scrum/Agile practices across engineering teams
• Translate executive and product strategy into clear, executable engineering workflows
• Own SDLC governance - process implementation, documentation, knowledge base contribution
• Track velocity, capacity planning, and delivery metrics that inform better planning decisions
• Run sprint ceremonies, release coordination, and cross-team dependency management
• Mentor teams on Agile discipline and accountability

Requirements

What this is

• SAFe 6 certified
• Deep Scrum/Agile experience - you\'ve stood up the practice, not just participated in it
• Meticulous about process, documentation, and metrics
• Exposure to PMO structure - you understand the framework even if you\'re not running one here
• Strong SDLC fluency across engineering environments
• CS or EE background preferred

What this is not

• A Product Owner or product strategy role - you\'re not setting the roadmap
• A people management role to start - you\'ll operate horizontally across teams
• For someone who wants a voice in product decisions

Pluses

• Experience in healthtech, fintech, or regulated industries where data security and system reliability affect real people
• Has set up or been the keeper of a PMO
• Release management background

Compensation

Compensation $150,000 - $180,000 base. Bonus eligible.
