Our Phillips-Medisize IVD and Life Sciences Team is hiring for a Global Director, Bioprocessing Business Development position. This role will lead a strategic effort to grow profitable sales in the Bioprocessing and Life Sciences end markets through assessment, intelligence gathering, business building, generating sales leads, and following the sales pipeline process. Successful candidates will have a strong drive for results and demonstrated ability to partner effectively (internally and externally) with personnel at all levels, particularly at top management levels / decision makers within the customer base.
This is a remote role that will be based in the US and will operate on a global scale traveling throughout the United States and internationally to work with internal and external customers.
What You Will Do
Strategic
- Collaborate with segment strategic marketing partners to build and refine Bioprocessing Commercial Strategy and go-to-market plan. Map sales talent needs globally for the segment.
- Assess segment competitive landscape, recommending capabilities for differentiated offerings.
- Drive and deliver growth for the Global Bioprocessing and Life Sciences Segment worldwide.
- Build and strengthen capabilities (organization, processes) for sustainable growth.
- Build/strengthen a strong network with customers.
Tactical
- Initially as an individual contributor, build sales pipeline, win New Business Awards (NBA's) aligned to strategic objectives of the segment and business for the region.
- Work with Global Costing, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to build design, development, and manufacturing transfer proposals to clients in bioprocess and life sciences end markets.
- Actively nurture and support strategic customer relationships and assist with the negotiation of "win/win" outcomes.
- Collaboratively work with multiple stakeholders internally across geographies (US, UK, Europe, and Asia) and functions (R&D, Operations, Marketing, Commercial Excellence, Platform, etc.) to win and execute programs.
- Strengthen and maintain CXO connections across key customers.
- Identify technology trends in bioprocessing markets that should be developed into Phillips Medisize strategic capabilities.
- Participate and engage in marketing activities.
- Serve as KOL for the segment, driving credibility in the existing IVD vertical and market entry into new bioprocessing and adjacent life science verticals.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 10 years or more experience developing/closing agreements with new bioprocessing and life sciences customers, markets, and technologies, including strategy development, execution, and contract proposal negotiation in a contract research, development, and manufacturing environment.
- Experience with biologics manufacturing workflows (e.g., cell fermentation, harvest, filtration, and/or chromatography).
- Bachelor's degree in business or bioengineering.
- 5 years or more people‑management experience (talent management, development, retention, and engagement).
- Experience in contract injection molding, plastics/metal materials, and associated processes.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Master's degree in business or bioengineering.
- Experience with design, development, and manufacture of single‑use bioprocessing devices.
- Experience with assay and device design for IVD and life sciences end markets.
- Knowledge of assigned market segment(s) and customer base (existing and potential) in technology, developing trends, and opportunities.
For this role, we anticipate paying $200,000-$225,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
