About the Role
As the Head of Business Development, you will lead the growth and commercialization of Figure’s tokenized equity and capital markets initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this individual will drive origination, strategic partnerships, and investor distribution across traditional financial institutions, Web3-native platforms, and emerging digital asset ecosystems.
This role sits at the intersection of TradFi and DeFi; responsible for expanding issuer adoption, deepening investor participation, and developing partnerships that accelerate the evolution of blockchain-enabled equity capital markets infrastructure.
You will work cross-functionally with Capital Markets, Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and Operations to design, launch, and scale innovative equity and structured products on-chain.
What You’ll Do
- Lead equity capital markets business development, including issuer origination and investor distribution partnerships
- Structure and commercialize tokenized equity and blockchain-enabled capital markets products
- Develop and manage relationships with corporate issuers, asset managers, RIAs, broker‑dealers, and institutional investors
- Build strategic partnerships across traditional financial institutions, crypto exchanges, custodians, and Web3 platforms
- Bridge traditional equity capital markets with DeFi ecosystems to expand distribution and liquidity
- Own the full business development lifecycle from sourcing through launch and ongoing relationship management
- Negotiate commercial terms and partnership agreements in collaboration with Legal and Compliance
- Develop sales materials and manage pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting
- Establish KPIs to measure partner performance and revenue contribution
- Identify new product opportunities aligned with market demand and ecosystem needs
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Capital Markets, Product, Engineering, and Compliance to define go‑to‑market strategies
- Drive cross‑sell opportunities across Figure’s broader capital markets and digital asset platform
What We Look For
- 10+ years of experience in Equity Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Capital Markets, or Institutional Sales
- Direct experience executing equity offerings (IPOs, follow‑ons, private placements, structured equity products)
- Deep understanding of securities markets, capital formation, and investor distribution channels
- Strong network across issuers, institutional investors, broker‑dealers, and capital markets participants
- Proven track record of originating and closing complex transactions
- Working knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, tokenization, and digital securities frameworks
- Familiarity with stablecoins, on‑chain liquidity, and Web3 market dynamics
- Demonstrated success building and scaling strategic partnerships
- Strong commercial instincts with disciplined deal structuring capabilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage complex, multi‑party transactions
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for transforming capital markets through technology
Salary
- Base Compensation Range: $224,000 - $275,000/yr
- 25% annual bonus target, paid quarterly
- Company equity in the form of RSUs
- This is the compensation range for the United States, actual compensation may vary based on individual candidate experience, location, or evolving business needs
