Executive Director of Philanthropy

Help fuel lifesaving care and medical discovery by leading philanthropy for one of the nation's premier integrated health systems.

In partnership with Lindauer, Intermountain Health Foundation is seeking an Executive Director of Philanthropy to serve as the lead philanthropy officer for the Canyons Region, operating in sustained campaign mode while strengthening team performance, physician engagement, and donor strategy.

The Executive Director will carry a portfolio of high-capacity donors while mentoring and managing frontline philanthropy officers. Success will require strategic clarity, disciplined use of metrics, strong partnership with hospital and physician leaders, and the ability to drive accountability across a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a robust major gift program and the strategies to achieve ambitious annual and campaign revenue targets.
  • Manage, mentor, and measure a team of philanthropy officers, fostering accountability and high performance through KPIs and data‑driven practices.
  • Partner with hospital presidents, physicians, Boards, and system leaders to deepen donor engagement and unlock transformational gifts.
  • Carry a portfolio of high-capacity donors, leading cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts aligned with system priorities.
  • Oversee implementation of system and regional campaigns while strengthening grateful patient fundraising and physician partnership strategies.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success as a frontline fundraiser with at least seven years of experience securing major and planned gifts and achieving measurable revenue goals.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage high-performing teams, using metrics and KPIs to drive accountability and results.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with experience engaging diverse stakeholders, including donors, physicians, executives, and volunteer leaders.
  • Experience operating effectively within a complex, matrixed organization, with the ability to collaborate across departments and align fundraising with institutional priorities.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and strategic planning skills, including the ability to develop compelling proposals, lead presentations, and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
