Position Summary
The Project Director - EPC is responsible for the overall leadership, execution, and delivery of large‑scale, complex EPC projects from concept through commissioning and closeout. This role provides strategic direction to multidisciplinary project teams and ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements. The Project Director serves as the senior point of accountability to the client and internal leadership for project performance, risk management, commercial outcomes, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Provide overall leadership and direction for EPC project execution from engineering through construction and commissioning
- Develop and execute project strategies, execution plans, and governance frameworks
- Ensure alignment of project scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives
- Lead integrated project teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning disciplines
Commercial & Financial Management
- Own project P&L responsibility and ensure financial performance targets are achieved
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, change management, and progress measurement
- Manage contract execution, claims, variations, and commercial risk mitigation
- Approve and monitor project budgets, commitments, and cash flow
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary interface with client senior leadership
- Manage contractual obligations and ensure client satisfaction
- Lead executive‑level reporting, progress reviews, and governance meetings
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external parties
Schedule & Risk Management
- Oversee development and execution of integrated project schedules
- Drive recovery planning when required to maintain project milestones
- Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and contingency strategies
- Ensure proactive management of project issues and escalation paths
Engineering, Procurement & Construction Oversight
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements and specifications
- Oversee procurement strategies, vendor selection, and supply chain performance
- Direct construction execution, site activities, and commissioning readiness
- Ensure constructability and execution efficiency are embedded early in design
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a zero‑incident safety culture across all project phases
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
- Oversee quality assurance/quality control programs and audits
- Ensure environmental and regulatory compliance throughout execution
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline required
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
Experience
- EPC project execution experience
