Executive Director – Behavioral Health (ℹ️ SCRH)

Behavioral Health Administration – Lead the operations, finances, and strategic growth of our full‑continuum behavioral health services, including intensive outpatient counseling, partial hospitalization, inpatient care, crisis stabilization, and risk assessments.

Job Summary

As the only behavioral‑health safety‑net provider in Sarasota County, SMH requires a visionary leader to guide a multidisciplinary team, build community partnerships, and directly improve patient outcomes. The role offers a high‑impact, high‑visibility position in a state‑of‑the‑art 82‑bed facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational and fiscal responsibilities across the health system.
  • Serve as a role model and guide a multidisciplinary team.
  • Build strong internal and community partnerships.
  • Make a direct impact on patient care and outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in health‑care management, business, or a related discipline.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive management experience and/or facility administration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification from a relevant program or professional organization (e.g., Association of Mental Health Administrators).
  • Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills to maximize productivity and outcomes.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience with the ability to set performance standards and deliver quality services.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically.

Mandatory Education

  • Master’s degree in a relevant health‑care management discipline.
