Lead a Premier Senior Living Community

Greenbrier Senior Living is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead Aviva Pembroke , our premier Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Virginia Beach, Virginia .

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and team leadership of the community. The Executive Director works closely with Greenbrier Senior Living leadership to ensure the community delivers exceptional resident experiences, strong occupancy performance, and operational excellence .

Executive Director Responsibilities

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational success of the community.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement the mission, vision, and strategic goals of Greenbrier Senior Living
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning for community operations
  • Oversee and manage all operational departments including:
    • Sales and marketing
    • Resident services
    • Clinical and healthcare services
    • Dining and hospitality
    • Facilities management
    • Financial performance and budgeting
    • Risk management and quality assurance
  • Ensure the community maintains full regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitor and improve occupancy, resident satisfaction, and operational performance
  • Provide reports, operational analysis, and recommendations to Greenbrier Senior Living leadership
  • Plan, direct, and evaluate the activities of Department Directors
  • Foster strong communication with residents, families, associates, and leadership
  • Maintain a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and accountability

Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities

The Executive Director is responsible for supervising and developing Department Leaders and management team members, including:

  • Recruiting and hiring new associates
  • Leading onboarding and training initiatives
  • Managing employee relations
  • Conducting performance evaluations
  • Implementing disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Supporting leadership development and team engagement

Executive Director Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Licensed Assisted Living Administrator or Memory Care Administrator in the applicable state required
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or healthcare operations
  • Strong experience with community operations, regulatory compliance, financial management, and team leadership
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Physical Requirements

Throughout the workday the position may require:

  • Standing, walking, sitting, and climbing stairs
  • Reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, and kneeling
  • Reaching overhead and grasping with both hands
  • Fine motor manipulation
