About the Role

Position at KBR serving as the primary Business Development customer‑focused lead within the Federal Civilian Agency mission and technology program area. The Director leads the full BD life‑cycle, builds a focused pipeline, and wins new business. The role focuses on large, prime single‑award opportunities ranging from $50M to $1B, engaging agencies such as DHS, DOJ, Treasury, DOT, FAA, and other FedCiv agencies. Travel to KBR facilities and customer locations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the full BD life‑cycle process across pursuits and proposals.
  • Build pipeline and advance winnable opportunities with an average size of $200M+ solicitations at various stages of the capture lifecycle in federal civilian mission and technology programs.
  • Engage the customer, shape future procurements, design winning strategies, and assist in developing capture plans that implement these strategies and translate into win themes.
  • Ensure the voice of the customer is represented throughout the capture process.
  • Lead BD activities, including: developing a healthy pipeline of new opportunities, qualifying and assessing win‑ability, moving opportunities through the milestone process, securing knowledge of customer requirements, coordinating market insight sessions, leading milestone/gate reviews, black‑hat sessions, solution sessions, blue‑team reviews, and proposal reviews.
  • Develop and submit white papers, RFI responses, and other customer engagement activities, applying KBR BD best practices to each pursuit.
  • Brief pipeline and opportunity status to senior management at specified milestones.
  • Create winning solutions and secure large new business programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a total of 20+ years of experience, including 10+ years in industry and 10+ years in business development.
  • Experience winning new business, single‑award contracts valued over $200M.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace.
  • Pre‑existing knowledge and relationships with federal civilian agencies, with a proven track record of winning single‑award programs as a prime.
  • Ability to win new business and drive profitable financial outcomes.
  • Proven success in business development, opportunity identification, qualification, account planning, and strategic planning within Federal Civilian programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in services‑centric organizations, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions.

Basic Compensation

$193,000.00 - $289,500.00

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
