Position Summary

We are seeking a hospitality-driven, service-focused Executive Director to lead our Independent & Assisted Living community, Cogir of South Bay. The successful candidate is passionate about creating an exceptional resident experience, inspiring high-performing teams, and delivering warmth, attention to detail, and operational excellence found in best-in-class hospitality environments.

The Executive Director holds full accountability for overseeing all community operations and ensuring the quality of care and services provided. This includes maintaining financial stability, managing budgets and cash flow, overseeing staffing practices, and handling daily operations in line with government agency guidelines. The role also involves fostering an environment that upholds the highest standards of care and building strong relationships with staff, department leaders, residents, providers, and family members, while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-site executive for all operations, serving as the primary contact for staff, residents, prospects, community organizations, government agencies, and the public.
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate all department directors, supervisors, and staff. Maintain training and morale.
  • Maintain a high degree of resident satisfaction by delivering high-quality services.
  • Lead the development and implementation of community sales and operations strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Understand the community care regulations and support the Resident Care Program by regularly meeting with the clinical department head to discuss issues.
  • Manage the community budget and cash flow, maintain accountability, and anticipate and minimize negative variances and deficits.
  • Provide leadership for staff and residents, proactively solving problems.
  • Act as the main property contact for Cogir Senior Living corporate staff and maintain positive relationships.
  • Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses, following company, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Review employee hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and terminations with a focus on retaining quality personnel.
  • Maintain the building grounds and property by supervising preventative maintenance programs and conducting inspections.

Qualifications

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, nursing, or human services is preferred, or a combination of education and supervisory experience in a senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environment.
  • Must be a Licensed Administrator (per state requirements) in good standing and meet all applicable federal and state license requirements.

Experience, Competencies, And Skills

  • At least 5 years in a progressive leadership role in a senior living operation; hospitality experience is a plus.
  • Understanding and compliance with all federal, state, and local resident rights regulations.
  • Budget management and financial planning expertise with ability to develop, monitor, and optimize budgets.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and CRM software; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and inspire cross-functional teams and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a passion for serving seniors.
  • High attention to detail, time management, and integrity.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends and be on-call 24/7.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Salary

$145,000 - 160,000 per year
