Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain

Personnel with the job title listed above have the responsibility & authority to perform the following functions & employment requirements listed below and are given the authority to perform those tasks.

The Director of Operations & Supply Chain oversees all manufacturing and supply chain operations, including:

  • Machining
  • Maintenance
  • Production Control
  • Purchasing
  • Shipping, receiving stockrooms

Functions

  • Responsible for monitoring and improving metrics related to on‑time delivery, inventory, cost, quality and delivery output of ADM Phoenix Operations, and utilize departmental metrics to drive improvement.
  • Coordinates manufacturing processes in all machining and assembly departments in order to drive reliable, on time supply to all customers.
  • Works in a coordinated fashion with all departments to identify efficient processes and improvements.
  • Works with General Manager of ADM of Mexico to identify part transfer opportunities.
  • Responsible for all hiring, training and termination of personnel within department.
  • Responsible for operational metrics related to the FAA repair station, including turn time and quality metrics.
  • Responsible for all facets of Supply Chain Management, including improvement of supply chain on‑time delivery and reduction of supply chain overdues.
  • Responsible for inventory control and reduction, including implementation of consignment/pull systems with ADM’s supply chain.
  • Responsible for On Time Delivery, Inventory Levels, and assuring low cost of Materials.
  • Generate and execute upon cost savings ideas for the ADM Phoenix operation. This includes cost reductions related to efficiencies, freight, supply chain costs, outside processing costs, and hardware.
  • Responsible for reporting weekly and monthly metrics related to all operational facets.
  • Support Continuous Improvement within ADM Operations focusing on improved quality, lower costs and improved delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a technical degree plus 10 years’ experience, or a minimum of 15 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. citizen or having resident status. Occasional travel to Nogales, Mexico. Must be able to obtain a US passport.

  • Honeywell
  • Sargent
  • Eaton
  • Background in electrical assembly and/or FAA repair station is a plus.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, Six Sigma, Lean processes.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented.
  • Ability to multi‑task, with good organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
  • Self‑starter capable of solving complex problems with little or no supervision.
  • Performs other duties as required and available for overtime.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or 10 to 15 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Supply Chain/Operations/Business experience.
  • Operations & Manufacturing Leadership (10+ years) Leading production in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
  • End‑to‑End Supply Chain Management Oversight of planning, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier performance.
  • Workforce & Capacity Planning Forecasting labor needs, scaling teams, and managing multi‑shift operations.
  • Strategic & Financial Leadership Budgeting, cost reduction, and aligning operations with business goals.
  • Regulatory & Quality Compliance Experience with AS9100 and working with the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • Experience with Honeywell manufacturing methods.
  • Root Cause and Corrective Action experience.
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
