
Supply Chain Director

Akkodis is looking for a Senior Supply Chain Leader to oversee procurement, subcontract management, material planning, inventory control, and warehouse operations across multiple programs and locations. This position is critical to supporting the rapid expansion of a high‑growth propulsion portfolio in a regulated environment. The Director will shape long‑term supply chain strategies, guide operational execution, and lead cross-functional initiatives focused on cost, quality, efficiency, and delivery performance.
This role operates within a matrixed organization, partnering closely with production leadership at one primary site and collaborating frequently with corporate supply chain stakeholders. Candidates based near the southeastern U.S. should expect periodic travel to other operational facilities.
This position is an onsite Direct-Hire opportunity.
Pay Range: $175,000-$250,000 annual base salary; Benefits and additional compensation
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute supply chain strategy that aligns with company‑wide goals, ensuring continuity of supply, scalable processes, cost competitiveness, and high reliability.
- Cultivate and manage supplier partnerships, driving continuous improvement in quality, delivery performance, and commercial terms.
- Negotiate complex agreements, working independently or with sourcing partners to secure favorable pricing, lead times, flexibility, warranties, and service-level commitments.
- Collaborate with internal supply chain leaders to implement best practices and harmonize processes across sites.
- Work cross‑functionally with engineering, program management, finance, operations, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, evaluate tradeoffs, and support program needs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency, including defining and monitoring KPIs to assess supply chain health.
- Analyze supply chain data and present performance updates, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team, ensuring strong execution, professional development, and world‑class talent acquisition.
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks, including market changes, capacity limitations, and geopolitical considerations.
- Optimize material flow and warehouse operations, including kitting, staging, and logistics support across multiple manufacturing environments.
- Conduct make‑versus‑buy analyses and evaluate vertical integration opportunities.
- Improve inventory accuracy and develop innovative models to balance operational agility with program requirements.
- Drive cost‑management initiatives across the supplier base to enhance competitiveness.
- Support new business pursuits by contributing supply chain expertise to proposal development.
- Lead supplier selection efforts, qualifying vendors capable of meeting rigorous technical and schedule demands.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in aerospace, defense, propulsion, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries
- Strong background across procurement, subcontracts, material planning, warehousing, and inventory management
- Working knowledge of U.S. government contracting and regulatory requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR)
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier agreements with measurable outcomes
- Experience scaling supply chain organizations in fast‑growth or production‑ramp environments
- Strong executive communication skills and ability to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
