Hours: 0.5 PA (2 hours per week)
Duration: Fixed term for 36 months
Location: Public Services Delivery Scotland – remote‑friendly; staff based throughout Scotland. Office‑based, hybrid, or remote arrangements are possible.
About the Organisation
Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) is a national organisation formed by the merger of NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to support the renewal and long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
Responsibilities
The Training Programme Director will lead and oversee national training programmes for the Scotland Deanery and contribute to operational and strategic work within the wider specialty grouping. Key duties include:
- Providing leadership and oversight of the national postgraduate education programmes.
- Engaging with trainees, trainers, and external bodies to support and enhance postgraduate education regionally and nationally.
- Co‑ordinating with the SCM and other national functions as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical qualification: MB ChB or equivalent.
- Registered on the GMC General and Specialist Registers.
- Broad understanding of the GMC and Scotland Deanery quality frameworks, with practical experience of medical education and training in the NHS.
- Current substantive NHS consultant post in Scotland; prior to interview must confirm that employer would support a Service Level Agreement for this role within their job plan.
- Right to work in the UK or eligibility for sponsorship authorised by the employer.
