Data is a strategic area at Capital One. As a Program Director on the Discover Integration team, you will be a strategic thought partner and execution leader, enabling the success of the Discover Integration Program. This high‑impact role sits at the intersection of program and project execution, communications, and operational excellence, providing critical support for enterprise‑level data workstreams at one of the world’s top financial institutions.

Responsibilities

• Swiftly develop a deep understanding of the organization’s integration strategy and vision so you can lean into complex issues and influence as necessary
• Partner with Enterprise Data leadership to create, socialize, and deliver our ambitious integration agenda
• Build relationships and collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand processes and drive results; connect dots across multiple leaders to understand and aggregate impacts on the business and other stakeholders
• Work with key executives and partners to understand areas of need and build efficient and effective operational and communication processes
• Be data‑driven as a way to continuously improve operations
• Establish, maintain and facilitate program standards, practices, and governance
• Lead moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports
• Design, develop, and manage project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
• Leverage problem‑solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
• Partner cross‑functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
• Have excellent communication and partnership skills essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

• Highly collaborative (comfortable partnering with all levels of the organization) while working backwards from intended outcomes
• Experienced at identifying patterns and commonalities that can create a bigger picture out of small pieces, anticipating what’s around the corner
• Proven in practicing discretion while handling highly sensitive issues

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree or military experience
• At least 4 years of experience in staff management and training
• At least 4 years in organizational development and performance
• At least 4 years of experience in budget management
• At least 4 years of experience in project or process management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Organizational Development
• 6+ years of experience in project or process management – managing visible projects that require managing interdisciplinary team members, removing obstacles and influencing appropriately
• 5+ years of experience in communications planning and development, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
• 5+ years of experience in staff management and training
• 5+ years of experience in organizational development and performance

Richmond, VA: $187,300 – $213,700 for Director, Project Management
