
Director of Capital Project Management

We’re seeking a Director of Project Management to lead a diverse portfolio of capital projects across the US. This is a high‑visibility role overseeing multiple concurrent initiatives, ranging from commercial fit‑outs to large‑scale capital improvements. The ideal candidate thrives in fast‑paced environments, brings deep construction expertise, and has a proven track record delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large portfolio of CAPEX, fit‑out, and capital improvement projects across multiple sites.
- Oversee 3rd party project managers, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless execution.
- Develop project strategies, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans for initiatives ranging from $1M to $30M+.
- Ensure adherence to design standards, construction quality, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders, landlords, architects, engineers, and GC/CM partners.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes, vendor performance, and cost management.
- Travel as needed to project sites across the US.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience working for a General Contractor (GC), Construction Manager (CM), or owner with strong field and project/program delivery knowledge.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent construction projects in commercial, retail, hotel, or restaurant environments (or similar).
- Deep understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Experience overseeing projects in the $1M–$30M+ range.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams and influence cross‑functional partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Based in New York City, with the ability to travel as required.
