Overview
An established private investment firm is seeking a Director of Business Development to support the continued expansion of its real estate and alternative investment platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to join a growing organization with potential for equity participation.
The Director of Business Development will lead capital raising efforts by developing and managing relationships with prospective and existing investors. This individual will also collaborate closely with firm leadership across the full investment lifecycle, including deal sourcing, evaluation, structuring, and marketing strategy development. Success in this role requires high integrity, strong relationship‑building skills, and a proven ability to raise capital from sophisticated investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead business development and capital raising initiatives for real estate and alternative investment offerings
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, investment advisors, and family offices
- Support deal origination efforts, including identifying opportunities, participating in negotiations, and conducting due diligence
- Assist in investment product positioning, branding, and marketing strategy
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic growth initiatives
Qualifications
- Demonstrated integrity and commitment to acting in the best interest of clients
- Established network of high-net-worth investors and advisors in key markets (e.g., Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, or similar)
- Proven track record of successfully raising capital
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage sophisticated investors
- 5–10 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or marketing within financial services
- Experience working in collaborative, performance-driven environments
- Existing relationships within real estate or alternative investments preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
- Ability to obtain relevant securities licenses (e.g., Series 7/SIE, Series 63)
- Advanced degree or professional designation (MBA, CFA, CFP) is a plus
