Overview
Summary The Director, Product Strategy Lead (PSL) will lead the creation, implementation, orchestration and measurement of the integrated product strategies for a product within the CV therapeutic area in the US. This individual will contribute to the key decision making for maximizing the impact of the product under their remit while actively and appropriately managing resource allocation across multiple teams and functions. This role involves collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Novartis Patient Support, Market Access, Insights & Data Science, and Medical to align strategies, plans and resourcing. The leader will drive accelerated impact for the product while leading through a business-critical transformation and will contribute to management of the full P&L under the General Manager for the product and partner with functional heads on resource decisions.
About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Define critical and specific integrated priorities and key impact measures for the assigned product/indication in consultation with the cross-functional product strategy team under the General Manager.
- Integrate, lead, measure and take decisive action against the KPIs on the integrated product strategy to raise impact for the product.
- Significant contribution to the P&L of a product/indication while enabling partner functions to manage day-to-day resource management.
- Significant contribution to topline results as an outcome of strategic choices.
- Significant contribution to integrated cross-functional resource allocation to deliver highest impact.
- Establish and coordinate management of KPIs across all functions accountable for the integrated product strategy.
- Appropriately partner with functional heads in trade-off decisions.
- Partner with other general managers and Product Strategy team members for enterprise decisions, including potential trade-offs between products/indications.
Essential Requirements
Education (minimum/desirable): Bachelor’s Degree, preferred MBA or other advanced degree/executive education.
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting, inclusive of at least 2 different cross-functional roles/experience.
- 2+ years of direct responsibility for large budget management, including owning key product trade-off decisions.
- 2+ years leading and translating an integrated product strategy requiring global and local alignment.
- US Market, launch and product lifecycle experience, OR General Manager experience in other countries.
Required
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting, inclusive of at least 2 different cross-functional roles/experience.

- Consulting, Market Access and/or Finance experience strongly preferred
- US experience strongly preferred
- Global or other country/region experience (Projects or full-time roles or temporary roles for 6 months or more)
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is expected to range between $185,500.00 and $344,500.00 per year. The final salary offered is determined based on factors including relevant skills and experience and will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may adjust the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and, depending on the level of the role, eligibility for annual equity awards.
