Overview

Salesforce is looking for a Senior Director, Sales Strategy to lead the Sales Strategy team for TMT and to act as a trusted advisor to leaders. The Sales Strategy team is a high-performance group chartered with assisting senior executives in driving the business forward and is part of the COO office. Sales Strategy focuses on strategic planning, sales coverage, sales analytics and developing quick plans to address areas of weakness. The leader will partner with cross-functional teams such as finance, employee success and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy support for the TMT OU, including team development within the Strategy organization.
  • Partnering with Senior Leadership to drive and track the business using a data-driven approach, interpreting KPIs and providing recommendations.
  • Supporting the business operational model and cadence (forecast calls, business reviews, etc.).
  • Partnering with the leadership team to define and implement the right Go-to-market approach (Segmentation, Planning, Headcount Allocation, Quota Distribution).
  • Drawing insights from data, applying judgment, and putting forward recommendations to support growth and the success of sales managers and key stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, a strong work ethic, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are required.

  • Analyze the health of the business by interpreting key performance metrics.
  • Embed and own Sales operational governance and cadence.
  • Build executive presentations and craft messages for Leadership.
  • Develop and present recommendations to senior management for strategic decision making.
  • Own and enhance data sources and data reporting to gain scale and address new requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive the execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Participate in key strategic projects and long-term transformational initiatives.
  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership and department heads.
  • Review, design, and execute improvements to organizational structure, identify knowledge and skills gaps and help address them.
  • Improve current processes and coordinate organizational procedures for optimized efficiency and productivity.

Desired Skills/Experience

  • 10+ years of professional experience, ideally in consulting or sales strategy and operations roles in tech.
  • Significant experience in a top consulting firm OR high tech company in a highly analytical role OR strategy department in a fast-paced growth company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: ability to structure complex problems, conduct data-driven analysis and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills: translate results into easily digestible messages and executive presentations.
  • Team player with a highly collaborative style and strong networking across business functions.
  • Team management: lead by example and develop and nurture talent.
  • Agile and flexible working style; comfortable with ambiguity and a sense of urgency.
  • Strong work ethic: high energy, autonomy, resilience with a 6 Get it donettitude.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and complex cross-functional projects.
  • Courageous communicator: excels at bringing stakeholders along the journey and managing expectations for efficient workload prioritization.

Base salary ranges: typical base salary is $191,100 - $320,600 annually. In select cities in the SF and NYC metro areas, ranges are $228,600 - $348,600 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonuses, equity, or benefits.
