Position Overview

State Bank Financial seeks an accomplished commercial banking leader for the role of Market President – Business Banker at Marshfield. A senior commercial lender with a strong portfolio, deep community trust, and leadership experience is ideal.

Position Summary

Grow and manage a portfolio of commercial and commercial real estate clients in our market area, primarily developing new prospective client relationships.

Relationships include clients who use some or all of the following services: Commercial Credit, Commercial Depository, Treasury Management, and Card products.

Profile customers for cross‑selling of additional services such as Investments, Merchant Processing, Retail Banking, etc.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for loan and deposit growth through cold calling, COI leads, and other avenues to increase market share and retain the existing portfolio.
  • Ensure portfolio administration and risk management for each customer relationship is in compliance with the bank's credit policy, procedures, business strategy, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Screen/interview applicants, analyze financial information for credit requests, and present recommendations through the loan approval process.
  • Attend community events, volunteer, and serve the bank’s community while increasing visibility within the market. Actively participate in business development activities to attract additional profitable business.
  • Utilize government credit enhancement programs when necessary to meet customer needs and underwriting criteria.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve on bank committees as needed.
  • Update knowledge and develop professionally through continuous training and development opportunities.
  • Other job‑related duties may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Software/Technology

Operate a personal computer in a Windows environment for word processing, spreadsheets, e‑mail, internet/intranet, and bank‑specific software. Use office equipment including computer, printer, fax/scanner/copier, and multi‑line telephone.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or equivalent required. Minimum seven years of commercial banking experience and basic knowledge of business and contract laws required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Strong computer skills, technical ability, ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information, and ability to manage time pressures and stress.

Working Conditions

Work is performed largely in an office environment during normal business hours. Deadline pressure is integral. Regular mental and visual concentration for computer usage and reading/assimilating complex, technical compliance information is required. Position alternates between walking, sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds of office supplies or documents.
