Intellectual Property and Privacy | Technology Partner (Portable Book Required)

Mid Sized DC area firm seeking an experienced Privacy and Intellectual Property Transactions attorney with at least a $300,000 book of business to join its growing Technology and Intellectual Property Group. The attorney can work from : The D.C. Metro area, Delaware, Florida, Kentucky,

New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Virginia , West Virginia or from a home

office in one of those jurisdictions.

Primary responsibilities will include counseling clients with respect to: (a) data privacy and

security matters, both in the US and internationally; and (b) drafting, reviewing and

negotiating agreements involving IP, technology, data privacy, data security and related

commercial and regulatory matters. Required data privacy and data security experience includes providing compliance advice, drafting and revising privacy policies, data security policies and data protection

agreements, and responding to data security incidents. Required transactional experience includes working on software development agreements, vendor agreements, cloud service offerings, strategic alliance and joint venture agreements, open source licenses, IP and technology licenses, consulting and marketing

agreements, and distribution and reseller agreements, and supporting M&A transactions

with respect to data protection and IP issues.

All candidates should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working on data privacy/security and IP transactional work. Candidates should also have excellent academic credentials and superior writing, drafting, and communication skills.
