This role sits at the intersection of mission, technology, and growth. You will work closely with senior government leaders and internal solution teams to identify opportunities, shape strategies, and deliver innovative capabilities across areas such as Cybersecurity, Data and AI platforms, DevSecOps, and Digital transformation.

Contributions

Drive Strategic Growth

You will help shape and execute Steampunk's growth strategy across federal law enforcement agencies including Department of Justice components and other national security organizations.

This includes identifying new opportunities, developing pipeline, and guiding pursuits from early shaping through contract award.

Lead Opportunity Development and Capture

You will lead strategic captures and guide pursuits through the full lifecycle including:

• Opportunity identification and qualification
• Customer engagement and mission discovery
• Competitive positioning and teaming strategy
• Proposal strategy and solution alignment

You will work closely with solution architects, delivery leaders, and executives to ensure our offerings align with mission needs and deliver meaningful outcomes.

Build Trusted Customer Relationships

Success in this role requires strong relationships and credibility. You will engage with senior leaders across agencies to understand evolving mission challenges and help translate mission needs into technology-enabled solutions.

Collaborate Across the Organization

You will partner closely with Steampunk leadership, delivery teams, and growth professionals to build long-term customer strategies and expand our presence across key agencies.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in federal business development, capture, or growth leadership
• Demonstrated success in winning federal opportunities
• Strong understanding of the federal acquisition process and procurement lifecycle
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior leaders across agencies such as DoW and VA
• Familiarity with modern federal technology modernization initiatives, including cloud, cybersecurity, data platforms, AI/ML, and DevSecOps
• Experience leveraging federal contract vehicles
• Strong strategic thinking and opportunity-shaping skills
• Executive communication and relationship management skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build new opportunities
• Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, high-growth environment
• Experience supporting federal law enforcement missions such as investigations, intelligence analysis, biometrics, case management, or border security
• Advanced degree or relevant industry certifications
• Must be local to the Washington DC area
• Must be willing and able to come in to the office and be on client site

About Steampunk

Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $250,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
