Enterprise Architect (Digital Assets, Blockchain, Stablecoin Platforms)

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Enterprise Architect – Digital Assets, Blockchain & Stablecoin Platforms position! This is a contract opportunity and will be remote in the United States with periodic travel to Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C.

Position Overview

Join a forward-looking architecture team shaping the future of banking through blockchain, stablecoin, and digital asset innovation. This role is responsible for defining and driving enterprise-wide architecture strategy for next-generation financial platforms, bridging traditional banking systems with decentralized technologies. You will lead the design of scalable, secure, and regulator-ready solutions across blockchain, cloud-native, and enterprise integration ecosystems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design of enterprise-scale digital asset and stablecoin architectures, including tokenization models, smart contracts, and settlement workflows.
• Define and govern target-state architecture, reference models, and reusable design patterns for blockchain and digital asset platforms.
• Architect end-to-end stablecoin ecosystems, including on-chain/off-chain components, wallet and custody integrations, and reconciliation processes.
• Design integration patterns connecting blockchain platforms with core banking systems, payments rails (ACH, RTP, Fedwire), and treasury platforms.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as DeFi, tokenized assets, and blockchain platforms, providing strategic recommendations.
• Provide architectural leadership across cloud-native environments (Azure/AWS), APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Establish and enforce architecture governance, standards, and best practices across enterprise initiatives.
• Embed security, risk, and compliance frameworks into all solutions, including key management, transaction controls, and regulatory alignment.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams to ensure architectures meet banking regulatory standards (BSA/AML, OFAC, etc.).

What You’ll Need to Have

• Enterprise architecture leadership experience in highly regulated financial environments .
• Strong hands-on understanding of blockchain, stablecoin, and digital asset platforms .
• Proven ability to design complex, enterprise-scale distributed systems and integrations.
• Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and architecture decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or 11+ years combined experience.
• 7+ years of experience in enterprise, solution, or software architecture.
• Experience with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and enterprise architecture tooling.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing or supporting stablecoin, crypto, or digital asset platforms in financial services or fintech.
• Cloud and/or security certifications (Azure Architect, etc.).
• Experience working with payments modernization or real-time settlement systems.
• Background influencing enterprise-wide architecture strategy and governance.
• Experience working across multiple domains (application, data, infrastructure, security).

Pay Range: $100-$115+/hr
