Program Director, 40% / Professor, 60% (Cyber Security)

Responsibilities

  • Guide the Associates of Applied Science (AAS) and Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) cybersecurity degree programs.
  • Lead the cybersecurity program to drive student completion, retention, and recruitment while serving as the subject matter expert for curriculum quality, industry alignment, and faculty development.
  • Teach nine (9) credit hours per semester (Fall/Spring) in the CIT and Cybersecurity programs.
  • Maintain a minimum of forty (40) total workload hours per week, including teaching, student office hours, division service, and college service hours.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise curriculum to ensure academic quality, relevance, and alignment with student learning outcomes.
  • Assume responsibility for program and curriculum development and assist in the writing and administration of cybersecurity-related grants at the request of the Dean.
  • Provide support and guidance to adjunct faculty teaching within the program to ensure instructional quality and consistency.
  • Ensure regular on‑campus attendance; develop and submit budget recommendations for technology, software, and program‑specific facility needs.
  • Collaborate with CIT faculty on course scheduling, curriculum alignment, and program development.
  • Provide academic advising and student support services to ensure student success and retention.
  • Establish and coordinate the program advisory board; actively participate on program‑level and campus committees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support program, department, and institutional objectives.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends as required.
  • Supervise and manage part‑time, hourly employees, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight.
  • Facilitate with Assessment Committee to ensure courses taught are aligned with curriculum requirements in the course syllabi.
  • Work under limited supervision; receive training and guidance from the Division Dean.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by the Division Dean.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least a Master’s Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Currently holds industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+; complete CISSP certification within 4 years.
  • Two (2) years industry experience in the field of Cyber Security or Information Technology.
  • Experience teaching/training cybersecurity subject matter in the private sector or other educational environment.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Security, Networking, and basic programming.
  • Interest and willingness to manage/build the Cyber Security Program.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and carry up to 10 lbs; reach above shoulder; perform periods of sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and stooping.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, Doctorate degree, or additional graduate work in Computer Security or related discipline.
  • Experience teaching Cyber Security courses at the collegiate level and in both online and campus‑based environments.
  • Experience in Cyber Security, Networking, Digital Forensics, Encryption, Policy, Telecommunications, Cloud, or Mobile technologies, and Object‑Oriented Programming.
  • Hold certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, EnCE, CEH, CHFI, and ACE.
