This role contributes to Starbucks’ success by leading multiple teams of cybersecurity professionals that plan, coordinate, and continually improve enterprise‑wide cybersecurity programs. The director of assurance services provides leadership to application security, enterprise vulnerability management, and red teams.

As a director of cybersecurity, assurance services, you will:
Leadership
- Model leadership behaviors grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
- Identify and communicate key responsibilities to promote a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork.
- Support the implementation of enterprise programs, procedures, and practices to promote Starbucks key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.
Planning and Execution
- Plan and manage processes to ensure delivery of a world‑class Cybersecurity program.
- Establish key performance indicators and proactively report to stakeholders on cybersecurity activities, metrics, and risk posture.
Technical Design and Implementation
- Provide metrics and clear communication on the state of the work group and associated programs.
- Partner with other teams to continuously improve and advance the organization’s operational security capabilities.
- Define, build, and operate world‑class application security, vulnerability management, and red team operation programs.
Partner Development and Team Building
- Build and lead a team that supports each other, welcomes everyone, and succeeds together.
- Challenge and inspire team members to achieve world‑class results.
- Support partners in their career growth.
- Oversee training and development of partners and make effective staffing decisions.
Ownership
- Define and maintain processes, procedures, and expectations for the work group’s support responsibilities.
- Ensure that appropriate support documentation exists.
Basic Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in an information technology discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity.
- 8+ years of experience leading and developing highly performing teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CIPM, or other cybersecurity, data privacy, or information risk management credentials.
- Previous experience leading a red team function.

- Demonstrated ability to lead day‑to‑day tasks of diverse teams and influence senior leadership.
- Ability to develop teams and mentor staff.
- Proven ability to manage and facilitate annual operating budgets and strategic planning.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
