Job Description

The Director, Market Access - Trade Strategy and Marketing - Neuroscience Specialty leads a team that identifies business opportunities in the fast-evolving specialty pharmacy and distribution channel and develops initiatives to partner with pharmacy and wholesaler stakeholders to support patient onboarding and adherence to AbbVie products. This role supports the Botox franchise and requires deep expertise in the pharmacy and distribution channel, including experience developing strategic pharmacy partnerships and distribution models with an eye toward innovation.

The role will establish the vision and strategy for how AbbVie partners with key stakeholders in the specialty pharmacy channel to optimize the patient experience and grow the business, addressing evolving patient expectations and the adoption of digital capabilities and higher-touch clinical support models.

Responsibilities span leadership, strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration to drive specialty pharmacy initiatives and ensure alignment with Brand and Market Access. The role also involves managing relationships with external stakeholders in the Trade channel, and partnering with Market Access Strategy to assess policy changes and mitigate impacts on AbbVie’s portfolio.

Key Job Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Establish the vision and strategic framework to innovate and create best-in-class distribution and patient access models in the specialty channel
  • Lead Trade Marketing team in the evaluation and recommendation of defined Purchase Discount strategies for Botox
  • Ensure the Trade Marketing team is positioned to lead in cross-functional efforts to manage product supply disruption
  • Oversee the development of AbbVie's strategy to partner with specialty pharmacies to accelerate digital connectivity with patients, leveraging technology to facilitate drug purchasing and manage patient touchpoints
  • Establish the roadmap for actionable segmentation of patients across our portfolio to meet patient needs
  • Synthesize complex, and sometimes incomplete, pharmacy data sets to inform key strategic decisions
  • Manage relationships with senior-level cross-functional partners and present internal Trade QBRs to senior leaders
  • Lead for Trade in partnership with Brand and Finance leadership ensuring collaboration around Trade strategies and their impact on Plan and LRP
  • Lead for cultivating relationships with key external stakeholders in Trade channel, including Specialty pharmacies, vendors and other strategic partners
  • Partner with Market Access Strategy to assess impact of and develop strategies to address government and/or payer policy changes and lead related pharmacy mitigation initiatives
  • Serve Integrated Brand Teams and Joint Commercial Committees as subject matter expert to drive specialty pharmacy strategic alignment and business priorities
  • Establish Trade Marketing culture by creating an inclusive environment that encourages synchronicity, agility, transparency and development
  • Coach and develop direct reports to elevate their expertise in the trade channel and exposure across therapeutic areas while driving a culture of inclusion and professional development

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy related experience
  • Experience with Market Access and contract negotiation
  • Marketing experience preferred
  • Relationships within specialty, retail pharmacy and distribution channel preferred
  • Knowledge of Marketing concepts within strategic planning process and understanding of market research principles to inform recommendations
  • Experience in program management within pharmacy and distribution channel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing projects cross-functionally
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude
  • Customer centric mindset
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
