
Brand Director

- As Brand Director, you will lead brand, marketing, and growth strategy across Dragonfly and its portfolio companies. You will set strategy, oversee execution, manage external partners, and step in tactically when speed or complexity requires it. This role is responsible for building, managing, and scaling the team—whether in-house, outsourced, or hybrid—to deliver high-quality brand and marketing work. You will serve on the Dragonfly leadership team and act as a strategic advisor to portfolio leadership. This position is based in Memphis, TN. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to the Memphis area. Remote work is not available for this role.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities
Brand & Marketing Leadership
- Define and evolve brand positioning, messaging, and marketing strategy for Dragonfly and portfolio companies
- Translate organizational and portfolio goals into clear creative and growth strategies
- Balance brand consistency with appropriate differentiation across the portfolio
- Ensure brand rollout across digital and physical assets
Team & Capability Building
- Build, manage, and scale the brand and marketing function, including in-house staff, contractors, and agencies
- Design workflows, roles, and decision rights to ensure clarity, accountability, and speed
- Develop repeatable systems and playbooks that allow the function to scale across the portfolio
Agency, Vendor, and Deliverable Management
- Oversee agency selection, contracts, scopes of work, timelines, and performance
- Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery from concept through launch
- Act as the primary point of accountability between Dragonfly, portfolio teams, and external partners
- Step in directly during critical moments or tight timelines to unblock progress
- Lead portfolio leadership teams on brand, go-to-market strategy, and creative presence
- Support fundraising, partnerships, and major launches with clear narrative and materials
- Help portfolio companies prioritize marketing investments and initiatives
Budgeting & Planning
- Build and manage brand and marketing budgets in collaboration with the Dragonfly leadership team
- Allocate resources across portfolio needs with an emphasis on impact, efficiency, and learning
Leadership & Governance
- Serve as a member of the Dragonfly leadership team
- Contribute to organization-wide strategy, planning, and decision-making
