Position Summary
We are seeking a Director of Sales to support and execute the company’s commercial strategy across all in-house manufactured, company-owned brands within the firearms and outdoor CPG market. This role will focus on driving revenue growth, supporting margin improvement initiatives, and strengthening brand presence by aligning sales execution, marketing efforts, pricing strategy, and go-to-market planning.
This position plays an important role in how we bring products to market. The ideal candidate is a hands-on commercial leader from a manufacturing environment who has experience supporting growth for brands that are designed, produced, and sold in-house. Experience in CPG or the firearms industry is strongly preferred due to the operational, regulatory, and channel complexities unique to this space.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
- Support execution of the company’s sales strategy across wholesale, distribution, key accounts, e-commerce, and DTC channels
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining focus on margin and cost efficiency
- Assist with forecasting, pipeline management, and sales performance tracking by channel and product line
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners
- Support optimization of channel mix to improve profitability and reduce dependency risk
- Track and report on key performance metrics such as sell-through, margin by SKU, and inventory movement
- Execute brand positioning, messaging, and portfolio initiatives across Gwynedd Manufacturing brands
- Partner on product launches from concept through commercialization
- Support marketing initiatives across digital, trade, and content channels, ensuring alignment with revenue goals
- Assist in pricing strategy, promotions, and MAP enforcement
- Contribute to demand generation efforts and campaign performance tracking
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning activities
- Partner with Finance to analyze performance by SKU, channel, and customer
- Contribute to margin improvement initiatives through pricing, promotions, and product mix
- Provide insights to support data-driven decision-making across sales and marketing efforts
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Finance to align demand with production capabilities
- Communicate market feedback and customer insights to internal stakeholders
- Support development of scalable sales and marketing processes
- Assist in coaching and developing team members as needed
- Maintain understanding of the firearms, shooting sports, and outdoor CPG landscape
- Stay informed on regulatory and compliance considerations impacting the market
- Support identification of growth opportunities across products, channels, and partnerships
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings
Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Commercial roles within CPG, firearms, outdoor, or related industries
- Experience supporting growth of in-house or privately owned brands
- Exposure to multi-channel sales environments (wholesale, distribution, DTC, e-commerce)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret sales and marketing performance data
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Firearms, ammunition, accessories, or regulated consumer product industries
- Experience in mid-sized or growing manufacturing organizations
- Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems
- Exposure to product launches, SKU optimization, or portfolio management
This position is based in a manufacturing environment and may require the following over extended periods of time up to a full 8-hour work shift (excluding lunch and breaks): stand, walk, sit, squat or bend, kneel and rise, lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to — and occasionally exceeding — 50 pounds, view a computer or other digital screen, work on a computer, workstation or comparable system, and make accurate entries in such systems. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills are required for detailed assembly and precision work. Work may take place in areas with varying temperatures or no climate control, varying noise levels, and production equipment in motion. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas at all times as required by company policy.
