Director, Partnership Sales - LA Kings

Job Summary

The Director of Partnership Sales works closely with departments, SVP and the AEG Global Partnerships structure to generate and close sponsorship sales for the Los Angeles Kings and Ontario Reign. The role manages the entire sponsorship sale, from developing pitches and negotiating deal points to addressing client concerns and delivering creative solutions that align brands with assigned properties. The Director will ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual goals are met using sales techniques, building new business relationships, and setting expectations.

Essential Functions

  • Lead all facets of the sales cycle—including prospecting, customer assessment, analysis, strategy, ROI modeling, industry research, focus group synthesis, competitive intelligence, marketing/sales proposals, and alignment with existing solutions.
  • Present business updates, new opportunities, and industry-driven initiatives to the management team and sales leaders as required.
  • Lead client proposal development, sales and contract negotiations through to the close of new or renewed business.
  • Identify and cultivate brands/marketing executives within targeted accounts who make event marketing and media decisions.
  • Create and develop presentations for clients and prospects, including creative concepts for pitches and, where appropriate, manage budgets related to sales materials.
  • Share revenue and profit building ideas with corporate teams, sales leaders, and sales staff as needed.
  • Create sales plans scalable for local, regional and national programs.
  • Support the development of complex-targeting sponsorship plans to address client objectives and meet company needs.
  • Build a prospective client list of qualified accounts within the team's assignments.
  • Execute effective corporate sales calls and presentations to promote the organization’s unique sales and marketing platforms and meet established sales objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree (4-year).
  • 6–8 years of related sales experience.
  • Experience working with team-based sponsorships.
  • Experience in global sponsorship sales is a plus.
  • Expertise in identifying opportunities, developing strategies, and negotiating creative solutions.
  • High degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to work with leadership to manage and motivate a sales team in achieving sales goals.
  • Deep understanding of the advertising industry.
  • Exemplary problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to synergize efforts across multiple AEG business units to accomplish company goals.
  • Proven track record building successful partnerships and securing investments with Fortune 500 organizations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and capacity to learn required business systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM platform preferred.

Pay Scale

$140,000 – $160,000

Bonus

This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
