We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Sales to lead revenue generation efforts at the Courtyard Dupont Circle, a well-positioned hotel in one of Washington, DC’s most vibrant and demand-rich neighborhoods. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on sales leader who thrives on building relationships, uncovering new business, and delivering measurable results.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales is responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan to maximize hotel revenue across all market segments. This role will lead all sales activities, manage key accounts, and partner closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management team to drive occupancy, ADR, and overall market share.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue goals
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across corporate, group, government, and SMERF segments
  • Analyze market trends, demand patterns, and competitor performance to inform strategy
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing, inventory, and channel mix

Sales Leadership

  • Lead and execute all on-property sales efforts, including prospecting, account management, and closing
  • Maintain a strong presence in the market through client meetings, site tours, and networking events
  • Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports, forecasts, and action plans

Account Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key corporate accounts, local businesses, and travel partners
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure alignment with hotel revenue objectives
  • Drive repeat business through exceptional service and consistent follow-up

Brand & Market Positioning

  • Ensure alignment with Marriott brand standards and sales initiatives
  • Partner with Marketing to support digital presence, promotions, and local partnerships
  • Represent the hotel in the local community and industry organizations

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of hotel sales experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Marriott systems, tools, and sales processes is highly desirable
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Self‑starter with a proactive, results‑oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with the Washington, DC market is a strong plus

Wage Transparency: Salary Range 110-135K commensurate with experience.
