Job Description

This role will support our senior living communities in our Washington & Arizona region. The role will have a high travel element.

Job Summary

The Regional Director of Sales (RDS) is a strategic, multi‑site sales leader responsible for driving exceptional occupancy and revenue performance across a portfolio of MBK Senior Living communities. This role provides high‑level sales direction, market insights, and hands‑on coaching to strengthen community performance and ensure consistent execution of MBK’s sales and marketing strategies. The RDS reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing and partners collaboratively with regional and community leadership to elevate organizational capabilities, identify performance gaps, and implement effective action plans for improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Leadership and Talent Development

  • Drive occupancy and revenue growth across assigned communities through strategic planning, sales coaching, and execution support.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities, and develop actionable plans to achieve and sustain company sales goals.
  • Lead regular sales performance reviews and conduct comprehensive site visits, partnering with Executive Directors (EDs) to provide data‑driven insights, deliver ongoing coaching, and contribute to the development and follow‑up of performance improvement plans to address gaps, ensure accountability and drive goal achievement.
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to establish pricing, concessions, and marketing initiatives informed by competitive market analysis.
  • Mentor and coach sales team members to strengthen skills in lead generation, inquiry management, discovery, tours, and closing.
  • Partner with People & Culture and EDs to proactively identify, recruit, and onboard top‑tier sales talent for Director of Sales (DOS), Sales Associates (SA), and when necessary, Sales Specialist roles, while also overseeing the monitoring of individual development plans to cultivate a strong pipeline of future sales leaders.
  • Support onboarding and continued development for new Sales Specialists, Directors of Sales and Sales Assistants, ensuring alignment with MBK’s sales standards.

Market Insight & Planning

  • Maintain a deep understanding of regional market conditions, competitor positioning, and industry trends to inform strategy and anticipate shifts in demand.
  • Partner with marketing to guide communities in developing quarterly Sales & Marketing Plans that balance immediate needs with long‑term growth goals in partnership.
  • Conduct periodic market analyses to identify threats and opportunities, making proactive recommendations to leadership.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership at every level of the organization and across all disciplines to support cross‑functional success.
  • Work collaboratively with the Regional Director of Operations and Regional Director of Health Services to ensure interdisciplinary alignment, solve problems, and create innovative solutions.
  • Provide clear and timely reporting on sales performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to the Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
  • Participate in company‑wide initiatives and marketing projects that advance sales innovation, training, and best practices.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests in accordance with MBK policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience required.
  • Coursework in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field preferred.

Experience Requirements (in Years)

  • 5+ years of experience in senior living and marketing with a proven track record of achieving occupancy and revenue goals.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience essential; experience in multi‑site or regional roles strongly preferred.
  • Experience with various senior living products (independent living, assisted living, and memory care), highly desirable.
  • Candidates who live in Arizona or Washington are strongly preferred.

Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems for tracking customers and analyzing data.
  • Must successfully pass required background clearances and complete health screening, including a negative TB test results within 7 days of employment (must be within the last 6 months).
  • Valid state‑issued driver’s license and valid insurance or reliable method of transportation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including comfort presenting to individuals, small groups, and large audiences.
  • Strong judgement, problem solving, and decision‑making abilities; able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Highly organized with strong time management, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional, tactful, and service‑oriented in all interactions with associates, residents, families, referral sources, visitors, and the public.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration and accountability across teams.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to travel weekly, including overnight stays, and maintain a flexible schedule that may include weekends and evenings as business needs dictate.
  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pulling, reaching overhead, and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Able to move intermittently throughout the workday in the community and between neighborhoods.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, and push up to 20 pounds, as necessary.

Salary

$140,000-$160,000 + Bonus
