Playfly Sports is looking for a Director, Sponsorship & Ticket Sales to join our team at Morgan State University.

Responsibilities
- Lead sponsorship sales presentations that execute against short and long-term department objectives
- Retain and grow existing partnerships while creating new ones through a relationship‑based approach
- Serve as a member of the external operations team, and participate in weekly leadership meetings
- Conduct daily sales and relationship cultivation phone calls, messages (electronic, mailings, etc.) with season ticket holders, sponsors, businesses, individuals, groups and prospective buyers
- Prospect and target new sales opportunities to include sponsors, season tickets, courtside tickets, and group tickets
- Negotiate and execute contracts, and determine fair value of all assets associated with sponsorship
- Develop and execute approved Annual Business Plan and Operating Budget
- Lead in the development of ticket marketing, game promotion, and ticket pricing tactics
- Work with the university liaison to develop, present, and communicate sponsorship and ticket sales strategies, procedures, and processes
- Ongoing development of New Ticket Sales program in the following areas: new business generation, season tickets, development of sales and service strategies, best practices, and results tracking and reporting
- Track and report daily, weekly and monthly sales figures and relevant accountability
- Provide Proof of Fulfillment for in‑venue sponsorship elements
- Oversee sales of ticketed sports through outbound and inbound sales
- Provide superior customer service to university fans
- Hit and surpass annual sales goals, team and personal
- Create key sales strategies and go‑to‑market plans that generate long‑term revenue
- Own reporting and prospect pipeline in a way that communicates well to all stakeholders
- Manage and track marketing inventory while creating new assets and owning the fulfillment process
- Create and deliver marketing contracts and agreements
- Assist with corporate hospitality, tickets, in‑game promotions and other activities
- Meet and exceed annual department and individual sales goals
- Recruit, hire, train, retain, and lead ticket sales and service team members focused on new business, group sales, retention, and ticket service (box office/ticket operations)
- Exceed client expectations in revenue generation and customer service
- Evaluate team members performance and development through consistent coaching with a clear and individualized development plan
- Collaborate with external team to present comprehensive plans, outlining key goals, initiatives, and strategies to coaches and sport supervisors.
- Other job‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3–5 years in a revenue generating role and minimum of two (2) years in a sales leadership position
- 1 year Sponsorship Sales experience preferred
- Experience with box office and ticket operations duties preferred, but not required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Proven track record of success around sales and service for both tickets and sponsorships
- Strong work ethic, honesty, openness to learning, passion for sports revenue, positive attitude, leadership, and high levels of productivity
- Experience with ticketing software and CRM program, familiarity with Vivenu and Salesforce preferred
- Problem‑solver, intrinsically motivated, consistent, and ability to prioritize well
- Computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Suite) and detail oriented
- Excellent communication, presentation and listening skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Physical Requirements
- The work is sedentary in nature.
- Walking, standing, bending and carrying of light office items is required.
- The work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate‑controlled office environment.
- May require occasional travel.
Compensation
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may differ in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The Base Pay Range For This Role Is: $55,000 — $60,000 USD.
