
Director of Finance

We’re looking for a Director of Finance to lead our accounting function and Finance team. This role owns all financial reporting—internally, externally, and to the Board—and takes over the day-to-day financial operations currently handled by the CFO. You’ll also lead key Finance initiatives, including our NetSuite ERP implementation, scaling for growth, launching a new line of business, and supporting acquisitions and international expansion.
Director of Finance responsibilities are:
- Management of the Finance team (3 direct reports) & outsourced accounting service
- Monthly/Quarterly accounting — work with ADC outsourced accounting service for monthly close, including journal entries, acquisitions accounting, and revenue recognition
- Reporting — Monthly budget variance reporting by Line of Business and Department; Quarterly Board reporting, analysis, and MD&A preparation; Investor reporting
- Credit Facility — Monthly/Quarterly reporting to Lender; Quarterly Covenant Report and EBITDA reconciliation; Covenant Forecasting; Borrowing requests
- Audit — Lead annual audit from client side; Work directly with auditors; Review audit report and findings
- Accounting Processes — Lead process improvement and changes
- ERP Implementation - Lead the NetSuite implementation for accounting, working close ly with internal IT team and with outside implementation consultants
- Hardware enabled Saas Line Of Business: Design, Set up and implement accounting processes, procedures and policies for a new, fast growth LOB: Hardware supply chain management, inventory, billing, revenue recognition and sales tax.
- Subject Matter Expert for revenue recognition, accounting rules, and technical research; Recommendations to CFO
- Income Tax — Oversee outside CPA firm for all tax filings (Federal, State) for multiple entities
- Annual Budget and Forecasting — Assist CFO in preparation of annual budget, revisions, and reforecasts
Director of Finance requirements are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred: PwC, EY, Deloitte, or KPMG) or a comparable firm
- Experience managing and scaling a small team
- Strong foundation in GAAP accounting and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience supporting or leading external audits
- Tech-savvy, with experience in ERP/accounting systems and emerging tools (including AI)
