Professional Healthcare Resources, a leader in Home Health, Hospice and Personal Care services in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) and Baltimore areas, seeks a Director of Finance to join our team.

Summary and Responsibilities

  • Manages all accounting operational functions
  • Develops costs for supply and equipment items
  • Develops proposed salary costs
  • Develops proposed employee benefit costs
  • Monitors cash flow of the home health agency
  • Provides reimbursements for approved invoices
  • Monitors expenses and revenues according to budget and actual cost reports
  • Develops costs of proposed budget plans and revisions
  • Completes regular reporting activities, assists VP and CEO in making optimal operational decisions
  • Generates and creates reports from various information systems as directed
  • Assists in establishing, promoting, and maintaining professional and cooperative business relationships with governing agencies, local businesses, the medical community, and educational venues
  • Attends agency meetings and makes formal presentations when requested
  • Maintains administrative records

Education and/or Experience

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant with at least two (2) years’ experience in public accounting
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree, with a major in accounting or finance preferred; CPA highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing accounting policies and procedures

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and easily in English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional literature, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and fill out required forms
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, customers, and the general public

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical, medical, and regulatory instructions, and deal with issues and problems involving delivery of patient care

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills necessary
  • Ability to utilize basic computer software integral to agency operations
