
Finance Director

The Finance Director serves as the chief financial officer and City Treasurer as prescribed under Article VI of the City of Crockett Home Rule Charter. Under the administrative direction of the City Administrator, the Finance Director is responsible for the management, supervision, and oversight of all financial affairs of the City, including accounting, treasury management, budget development and control, capital project finance, debt administration, grant and procurement compliance, investment oversight, payroll, and internal controls.
In fulfilling the statutory duties of City Treasurer, the Finance Director exercises fiduciary judgment consistent with the Charter, City Council resolutions, and applicable State and Federal law. The position ensures receipt, custody, investment, and proper disbursement of all public funds, maintains compliance with the Public Funds Investment Act (PFIA) and Public Funds Collateral Act (PFCA), and enforces prudent fiscal management and transparency across all operations.
In addition, the Finance Director provides financial leadership to City departments and collaborates closely with the City Administrator, City Council, auditors, financial advisors, bond counsel, and grant administrators to ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, Uniform Guidance, bond covenants, and state procurement statutes (Chapters 252 and 2254, Texas Local Government Code).
Work involves advanced professional and technical financial management with substantial latitude for independent decision-making and administrative discretion. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
