Target Sports Director

Spend your summer leading one of camp’s most exciting program areas as Target Sports Director at YMCA of the Rockies — home to Camp Chief Ouray in the heart of the Rockies.

This is more than running ranges. It’s leading a high-performing team, upholding the highest safety standards, and helping campers build confidence, focus, and sportsmanship through archery, riflery, and target sports programming.

What You’ll Lead

• Full oversight of archery, riflery, hatchet throwing, and related activities
• Staff training, coaching, scheduling, and weekly performance feedback
• Compliance with Colorado Child Care Licensing, ACA standards, and USA Archery guidelines
• Equipment procurement, inspections, inventory tracking, and maintenance
• Development of lesson plans that build skill, confidence, and character

What You Bring

• USA Archery Level 1 certification (or higher)
• NRA Instructor certification or 16+ hours of documented riflery instruction
• 21+ years old with youth program experience preferred
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Bonus points for bilingual English/Spanish and eligibility to operate YMCA vehicles.
