Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position as a Laboratory Director, based in Lutz, FL. The Laboratory Director will oversee daily laboratory operations, including quality control, regulatory compliance, and laboratory testing procedures. Responsibilities include supervising laboratory personnel, maintaining laboratory equipment, developing and implementing protocols, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The director will also collaborate with other medical professionals, review test results, and provide input to improve laboratory efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine
- Proficiency in Laboratory Skills and Quality Control procedures
- Expertise in Microbiology and related scientific disciplines
- Strong leadership and management capabilities
- Relevant certifications or licensure required to operate a clinical laboratory
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Advanced degree (e.g., MD, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific field is preferred
- Previous experience as a laboratory director or similar role is highly advantageous
- Be a Florida licensed doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy who is certified in anatomic or clinical pathology, or both, by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology or equivalent
