How you'll contribute
ADirector of Surgical Services who excels in this role will perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation and directs the department's activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives such as:
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives
- Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors
- Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA)
- Skilled in the application of policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices
- Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standards
- Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff
What we're looking for:
Applicants should have a current state RN license andpossessa bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additionalrequirements include:
- Basic Life Support certification isrequiredwithin30 daysof hire.
- ACLS and PALS arerequiredwithin six months of hire.
- One year of experience preferred
- ASLS certification preferred
