Senior Director of Teaching and Learning
Location: South and North Campus. Schedule: Full-time, 12-Month. Reports To: Chief of Schools. Desired Start Date: June 2026.

LEADERSHIP AT AUG PREP

In This Role, You Will
- Lead system-level teaching and learning across two campuses, owning outcomes for a core grade band and ensuring coherence across the full student experience.
- Partner with principals and a team of academic leaders to build strong instructional systems, develop people, and translate data into action.
- Connect across campuses and school leaders to drive alignment and share best practices while not directly supervising all staff.
- Develop the Director of Teaching and Learning and Director of Student Services, building an accountable, coaching-driven team.
- Oversee student services and special education through the Director of Student Services, ensuring compliance and alignment with IDEA and state reporting.
- Stay current on best practices and translate them into action at Aug Prep.
- Communicate academic vision and progress to the board, donors, staff, and families.
- Build trust-based relationships and model a mission-driven, team-first mindset.
- As a Senior Leadership Team member, contribute to Aug Prep’s vision and strategy.
Curriculum Strategy and Implementation
- Lead the evaluation and selection of high-quality instructional materials and curriculum; ensure alignment, rigor, and impact on student outcomes.
- Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum across campuses and grade bands.
- Ensure vertically aligned, standards-based curriculum for K4-12 with ownership of one division and shared accountability for alignment across both campuses.
- Collaborate with principals and instructional coaches to support consistent implementation and address challenges.
- Design and lead standards-aligned professional learning to support Christ-centered, rigorous classrooms.
Coaching and Instructional Excellence
- Establish a culture of trust, reflective practice, and actionable feedback to drive improvement.
- Implement a coherent coaching model across school levels with strong planning, observation, feedback, and follow-through.
- Build leadership capacity by coaching school leaders and instructional coaches.
- Ensure coaching systems are coherent, differentiated, and relationship-driven.
- Strengthen collaboration through PLCs across campuses focused on student learning and results.
Data-Driven Instruction & Continuous Improvement
- Lead analysis of instructional trends and student outcomes; translate insights into strategic actions.
- Partner with leaders to turn data into action, modeling data meetings and ensuring follow-through on interventions and progress monitoring.
- Oversee academic performance across campuses with regular data meetings and clear next steps.
What We’re Looking For
- Belief in the God-given ability of every child and commitment to excellence for each student.
- 7+ years in education, including 3+ years in instructional leadership. Advanced degree preferred. State teaching license not required.
- Active participation in a Christian church.
- Data-driven leader with a track record of improving outcomes and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Deep knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and trends for diverse learners.
- Proven success in building teams and coaching leaders and teachers; strong relationship builder.
- Exceptional communication and professional development facilitation skills.
- Strong project leadership and organizational skills; able to balance big-picture priorities with progress toward goals.
- Team player committed to the St. Augustine Preparatory mission and values.
- Highest integrity and alignment with the school’s mission, beliefs, and culture.
