Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering or similar preferred.
- Minimum 5 years estimating experience with heavy civil – earthwork, structural concrete, steel, underground utilities, paving, grading.
- Experience with HCSS Heavy bid, AGTEK, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Preparing estimates of the cost of materials, labor and equipment for a construction project.
- Understanding and reading schemes to make estimates of the cost of the project.
- Establishing and maintaining the tendering(bidding) process.
- Setting up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
- Maintaining a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.
- Working with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors on feasibility studies and adjusting the cost when needed.
- Managing and coordinating construction projects and preparing construction progress schedules.
