Position: Axis Director Manager: Lead Pastor

Summary
The Axis Director is responsible for planning, executing and growing a life-giving student ministry. This leader must be able to build a ministry of hundreds of students through strong systems, relational leadership and a magnetic midweek experience. The Axis Director must connect authentically with a wide range of families and model the approach that “we are building a house that looks like heaven.”
This role requires on-site leadership for church and Axis services, volunteer connection and office hours.
What You Will Do
- Lead the growth of Axis to a vibrant youth ministry serving hundreds of students through strategic systems, strong volunteer leadership, and compelling weekly experiences
- Support the Lead Pastor in building a life-giving, vibrant location culture
- Plan and execute a relevant weekly Axis service that is high-energy, creative and worshipful
- Establish and strengthen a small group system (Tribes) that supports spiritual formation, relational connection, and scalable growth
- Build trust and rapport with students through relational touchpoints and parent engagement
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers through a leadership structure and training environments
- Create an atmosphere where students feel welcomed, valued, and excited
- Lead platform communication for Axis, including teaching from original and provided notes
- Oversee the First Serve and follow-up process
- Strengthen all operational systems, including weekly services, comms, volunteer, and branding
- Partner with Communications on the Axis IG account, parent newsletter, and promotion
- Inform and resource parents on upcoming series, cultural issues, and topics impacting students
- Assist with Central and regional Axis events, including Conference, Fall Retreat, and One Nights
- Maintain and expand partnerships with school districts and community partners
- Provide pastoral care for students and equip parents through consistent parent gatherings

- Excellent relational and communication skills, with the ability to lead adults and relate well to parents and students from all walks of life
- High personal standards in organization, follow-through, privacy and team development
- Comfort with digital tools and willingness to learn new systems
