Position Overview: Intake and Admissions Director
The Intake and Admissions Director provides strategic oversight and management of admission processes across multiple behavioral health programs. This role collaborates closely with the QA Director to ensure quality standards and compliance while maintaining capacity for direct service support when needed. The director is responsible for completing Medicaid Prior Authorizations for recipients seeking services.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Oversight and Strategy: Develop and implement strategic initiatives for intake operations, establish performance metrics, monitor program effectiveness, and design process improvements based on data analysis.
- Quality Assurance Collaboration: Partner with the QA Director to implement quality standards, support quality improvement initiatives, participate in audits, and maintain quality metrics tracking systems.
- Operational Management: Supervise intake staff, oversee daily operations, review complex cases, monitor wait lists and capacity, and develop QA-compliant procedures.
- Clinical Management: Ensure clinical documentation quality, guide staff assessments, oversee provider coordination, and lead team meetings.
- System and Data Management: Implement tracking solutions, oversee metrics collection, generate reports, and maintain documentation systems.
- Staff Development: Train staff, provide mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a quality-driven team culture.
Experience & Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in psychology, Social Work, or related field with 7 years' experience in behavioral health, including 3 years in a supervisory role or Master's degree with 5 years' experience, including 2 in supervision. Knowledge of Mississippi public health systems, insurance requirements, Medicaid Prior Authorization processes, electronic health records, and quality assurance protocols. Valid Mississippi driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred: Previous leadership in intake/admissions with a quality assurance focus, certification or licensure in behavioral health in Mississippi, and experience with quality management and compliance auditing.
