The Director of Operations will lead and optimize the operational backbone of a mid to large staffing and consulting organization. This role is responsible for driving operational consistency, margin performance, scalability, and service excellence across sales, finance, legal, and delivery. The Director of Operations operates as a key business partner to executive leadership, balancing strategic initiatives with hands‑on execution to support growth, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Develop and implement scalable operational processes to support growth across staffing and consulting services in the USA.
  • Translate company strategy into scalable operational plans, processes, and KPIs.

Staffing & Consulting Operations

  • Ensure efficient consultant onboarding, offboarding, and redeployment processes.
  • Partner with recruiting leadership to improve candidate experience, recruiter productivity, and placement quality.
  • Support consulting engagements by ensuring project staffing, resource allocation, and delivery alignment.
  • Partner with sales to improve candidate experience, sales productivity, and profitability.
  • Resolve escalated client or consultant issues with a focus on long‑term relationship management.
  • Ensure service‑level agreements (SLAs) and client expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

Systems, Process & Scalability

  • Drive process standardization across US regions, practices, sales, and delivery teams.
  • Optimize operational systems including ATS, CRM, and time‑tracking tools.
  • Identify and implement automation, workflow improvements, and best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives to standardize processes and improve data accuracy and reporting.
  • Oversee audits, documentation, and operational controls related to staffing and consulting engagements.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop operations team members and managers.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support organizational change management initiatives as the firm grows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within a staffing, consulting, or professional services firm.
  • Strong understanding of staffing models, consulting delivery, and workforce management.
  • Experience scaling operations in a growth‑oriented organization.
  • Proficiency with ATS, CRM, and workforce management systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands‑on execution.
