Senior Business Analyst / Product Owner (Contract-to-Hire)
Hybrid onsite (Downtown NYC, 3 days/week)
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst with 8+ years of experience to support a growing client in NYC. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain experience in the insurance industry, preferably Property & Casualty or Claims. Candidates with broader financial services experience will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog, including writing and prioritizing user stories, acceptance criteria, and features
- Partner with business, product, and technology stakeholders to define product vision, roadmap, and requirements
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements for Agile delivery teams
- Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and support UAT and release activities
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and delivery teams, ensuring alignment and timely decision‑making
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or in a hybrid BA/PO role
- Insurance industry experience (Property & Casualty or Claims strongly preferred; financial services considered)
- Prior experience supporting software implementations (from requirements through deployment)
- Strong data analysis skills, including experience working with large datasets, defining data requirements, and partnering with technical teams to ensure data quality and integrity
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with hands‑on backlog ownership
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with senior business and technical stakeholders

- Interview will take place onsite
- Hybrid onsite model: 3 days/week in downtown NYC
