Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Senior Proposal Manager to lead the proposal development process, ensuring timely submission of high‑quality, compliant proposals that meet client requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, manage proposal schedules, craft compelling narratives, and contribute to overall business development success.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end proposal development process, from initial RFP analysis to submission.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts, writers, and contributors to gather necessary information for proposal content.
- Provide leadership and direction to managers or professional staff.
Proposal Planning and Scheduling
- Develop and maintain proposal schedules, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Identify and allocate resources effectively to meet proposal requirements.
Content Development
- Write, edit, and review proposal content for clarity, consistency, and compliance with client requirements.
- Collaborate with technical and non‑technical teams to translate complex information into compelling proposals.
Quality Assurance
- Conduct thorough reviews to ensure proposals meet the highest quality standards.
- Implement best practices in proposal development to enhance overall quality and competitiveness.
Engagement with Business Development & Operations
- Interact with BD and Operations personnel to clarify requirements and address queries during the proposal development process.
- Foster positive relationships across teams through professional and effective communication.
Knowledge Management
- Contribute to maintaining a repository of proposal content, templates, and reusable materials to streamline future proposal development.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 12+ years of proven experience in proposal management, business development, or a related field, 3 of which should be in management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal management tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in proposal management and/or project management.
- Experience in a similar industry or with complex technical proposals.
- Familiarity with government contracting processes.
- Demonstrated success in winning competitive proposals.
- Current security clearance.
