Director of Operations

Overview

Metric Geo are partnered with a large General Contractor in Florida that has a strong presence in the heavy civil and transportation space. They’re looking to bring on a Director of Operations to lead their Heavy Civil Construction Division out of Jacksonville.

This role is all about driving operational excellence, safety, and profitability across multiple large-scale roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects.

The person stepping into this position will provide strategic oversight of execution, field operations, and resource management, making sure projects hit schedule, stay within budget, and meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational excellence, safety, and profitability across multiple large-scale roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic oversight of execution, field operations, and resource management to ensure projects hit schedule, stay within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction, ideally with a mix of highways, bridges, and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• At least 7 years in a senior operations leadership role (Operations Manager, Sr. Project Manager, Area Manager, or above) with responsibility for multiple crews or projects at once.
• Experience with budgets, forecasts, schedules, and profitability; ability to balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day operations.
