Overview
Director of Mass Excavation & Grading — We are seeking an experienced and driven Director of Mass Excavation & Grading to lead and oversee large-scale earthwork and grading operations. This is a senior-level leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, operational oversight, and the ability to lead teams on complex, high-value projects.
Base pay range
$220,000.00/yr - $280,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for mass excavation and grading projects across multiple sites.
- Manage project planning, scheduling, budgets, and execution to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery.
- Oversee field operations, equipment utilization, and production rates to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Lead and mentor project managers, superintendents, and crews, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and deliver high-quality work.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in excavation, grading, or heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale earthwork and grading projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of excavation methods, equipment, and site development practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight.
