Director Laboratory Operations

We are seeking Director, Laboratory Operations to join IQVIA Laboratories at Ithaca, NY.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage daily operations of the clinical testing laboratory to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Drive strategic alignment and consistency across global laboratory operations
• Champion quality assurance initiatives and oversee corrective actions for non-conformities
• Develop and implement training programs to maintain staff competency and compliance
• Monitor departmental budgets, cost control measures, and resource utilization
• Introduce new technologies, tests, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support client needs and RFPs
• Resolve complex client issues related to sample logistics, test results, and turnaround times

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology
• Subject Matter Expert in small and large molecules regulated bioanalysis via LCMS
• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in a regulated laboratory environment
• At least 5 years of direct line management experience
• Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:

• Deep understanding of clinical laboratory testing procedures and regulatory requirements (e.g., GLP)
• Strong leadership and team development skills with a focus on operational excellence
• Proficiency in quality assurance, GLP processes, and continuous improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication, client management, and financial oversight capabilities
