Overview
Reporting to the VP for Institutional Advancement, the Senior Director will spearhead large-scale events, initiatives and strategic and ongoing communications which strengthen the long-term relationship between donors/prospects and the institution.
Responsibilities
- Creating and coordinating events and initiatives for donors and prospects through collaborations with key partners, including development staff, volunteer leaders, faculty, administration, and students
- Crafting and monitoring donor stewardship communications, including the gift acknowledgment program and endowment reporting
- Identifying and developing stewardship activities, and for crafting customized recognition events for donors
- Direct supervision of the Director of Donor Relations & Special Projects and the Director of Development Writing
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 15-plus years of events experience in a complex, multi-layered institution such as higher education, arts/culture, or health care.
- 5-plus years experience in communications for Donors.
- Strategic thinker with ability to synthesize and prioritize details and assess them in terms of best practices and alignment to fundraising goals.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confident with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with high-level volunteers, faculty,y and staff.
- Extensive management experience and the ability to drive results through the contribution of staff and colleagues
- Comprehension and effective use of processes and systems for maintaining and sustaining a complex and sustainable Donor Relations program.
Preferred Qualifications
- A willingness to travel as necessary.
- Knowledge of SCT Banner, the College's integrated computer database, or like systems, desirable.
Salary & Benefits
Base pay range: $155,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr

Hybrid/Remote: Teachers College maintains a hybrid work environment, which provides employees with flexible work arrangements while ensuring we preserve the important aspects of our unique in-person college-campus culture. Depending on role and business needs, colleagues will either work onsite or in a hybrid model (a combination of in-office and virtual days). Employees are expected to live within a 150-mile radius of the College.
