Substation Designer

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI), a leading power engineering consultant firm, is seeking a motivated individual to join our San Diego or Ontario, CA office as a Substation Designer .

Responsibilities

• Perform substation electrical and physical design work for electrical substations ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV.
• Draft design documentation for assigned projects.
• Support other projects as required.
• Resolve AutoCAD software operating issues.
• Establish AutoCAD environments per client requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• College degree or two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design.
• Minimum of 15 years of computer-aided drafting and design experience.
• Advanced computer skills and expertise in AutoCAD; knowledge of MicroStation preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Results-oriented, able to complete design assignments with minimal direction, capable of working effectively in team and client interactions.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail, quality, schedule and budget.
• Occasional travel/driving may be required.
• Subject to ECI’s auto insurance carrier requirements.
