Position Summary
The purpose of this salaried, exempt CTRS position is to promote a therapeutic environment for all residents by assessing recreational preferences, creating and implementing innovative group and individualized recreation programming, maintaining timely documentation, and enhancing quality of life through individualized person-centered interventions.
Job Responsibilities
- Understands and promotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure application with organizational policies and procedures.
- To plan and lead group and individual activities.
- Maintain and record quarterly and annual progress reports.
- Keep daily statistics.
- Complete initial resident assessment.
- Assist in decorating of facility for holidays and events.
- Assist in the selection, planning and implementation of special events.
- Maintain supplies in an orderly and safe manner.
- Assist in selection and ordering of supplies.
- Attend plan of care and physiatry meetings.
- Attend in service training sessions.
- Perform any duties relevant to the function of the department.
- Maintain flexible work schedule to assist in needed situations or emergencies.
- As assigned by supervisor will act as an instructor for recreation students and provide all necessary supervision/hands on experience in order to complete and fulfill fieldwork assignment.
- Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy.
- Certification in Therapeutic Recreation Therapy.
Experience
- One year experience.
- Experience working with physically and cognitively challenged children preferred.
Salary Range
$62,400.00/Yr. to $66,000.00/Yr.
