Director, Anatomic Pathology Laboratory – Optum – Kelsey‑Seybold Clinic – Fort Bend Campus
We are seeking a seasoned, forward‑thinking laboratory leader to shape the future of Anatomic Pathology services at our Fort Bend Campus in Sugar Land, TX. This hands‑on leadership position will guide a skilled team across histology, cytology, and associated support functions, refine operational processes, build high‑trust partnerships, and support efficient, accurate diagnostic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee day‑to‑day operations of anatomic pathology services, including histology and cytology
- Ensure performance excellence in quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Optimize workflows, staffing strategies, and resource planning to support a high‑volume environment
- Collaborate with pathologists and clinical stakeholders to support accurate, timely diagnostic services
- Manage budgets, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
- Leadership experience within anatomic pathology, histology, or related laboratory operations
- Strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory requirements
- Ability to lead teams, address complex operational challenges, and drive consistent quality outcomes
- Clear, collaborative communication skills and a commitment to patient‑centered care
Pay & Benefits
Salary range: $110,200 to $188,800 annually . In addition to salary, the role includes a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, an employee stock purchase plan, and a 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility requirements).
